Taufiq is 3yers old malay down syndrom child. But the biggest ting dat really touches is dat his family... esp his mom Kak Tini she's a great Ibu, although she has 2 other kids b4 taufiq but taking care of taufiq is her 1st priority. Same goes with Abg Azman, His Ayah.
Recently.. Taufiq was diagnose as A.L.L which known as Acute Leukemia. All types of procedure hv been made on him. As per Kak Tini's story.. Everything happen on dat particular day Sunday 03/01/08. He had a fall frm playing wit his brother. An hr later suddenly he became very pale and lethargic. Dat wen they felt sumting is not rite. 04/01/08 Monday they came to Children Emercency to see a doctor, and suddenly Doc says dat taufiq hv to save asap so dat it wont get further serious cases. Kak tini was so upsad. Dat day it self Taufiq wen for MRI, CT Scan, Blood Test and most important BMA ( Bone Marrow Aspression) to check wheather taufiq is positive Leukemia.
After all procedure hv done he was sent to my ward in the middle of nite during my shift. He's very cute indeed. With all tubing n plugs all over his body really make me scared to wake him up for milk. Bt den i hv too coz its time for him to drink. At 1st taufiq were really frighten of me as he saw any lady wearing Uniform he will cried. How to comfort him? well indeed yes i manage to make him comfortable wit me by playing and talking to him as per his way of language.. kids talk. Wen i look at kak tini she was frustrated. I approuch her and we had some conversation. Dats where she told me everyting. and it really touches me. I mean although its other ppl kids... wat if it happen to me in the future. I need Courage and support to move on.
He stayed in my ward about 2wks. As day by day Taufiq no longer scared of me neither any of my colleague coz we always came in to his isolation room to make him accompanied. playing and dancing wit him. His 2nd wk of staying, Doc would like to do anthr BMA on him again as result was not accurate coz Immunity, reading, and bld result was diff frm other kids coz Taufiq is a Down Syndrom. Abg Azman (his ayah) at 1st refused to do it coz he doesnt want to hurt him again. Aftr assurence frm me n my colleague and his family he manage to agree wit doc request.
2nd BMA was done. Kak Tini felt much relieved coz the leukemia was not really bad as she thought off. Bt still its leukemia no such medication or cure cld resolve it unless if there is Bone Marrow Implant den chances of Taufiq living is Better den it expected. So nw Doc Diagnose him as MAL ( Mild Acute Leukemia). and was dicharge few day after dat. Still Taufiq is just like my little brother. who is active dancing and playing. i Caught a video of him dancing elmo song. And i will kept it as a rememberence of him. Mohammad Taufiq.
